That philosophy inspired MAK — the creation of Jules Mak, a second-generation Dublin restaurateur. Hong Kong-style dim sum alongside authentic Chinese cuisine, cooked to order and made for eating wherever you like it best.
MAK was founded by Jules Mak in 2012, when he was just 24.
“It’s been a journey that’s taught me to keep moving forward, to trust my instincts and to enjoy the process — knowing when to take a leap, when to hold steady, and learning from everything in between,” he says.
Fourteen years later, MAK has made its next move — quite literally, just across the road in Ranelagh.
The new MAK is a reimagining of what we do best: the dishes people have known and loved for over a decade, now built entirely around takeaway. No dining room, no distractions — just a smaller, more focused space dedicated to making great food for people to enjoy at home.
The location may have changed, and the format may be new, but at its heart, it’s still MAK.
